Will the SE air cleaner kit for Dyna's explain my "oil in filter" obstacle? After much seek and analysis responses to parallel questions it seems to me that oil will end in the air cleaner under 3 different scenarios. My old Sportster had the same capture of catch but was cured once the SE air cleaner kit was installed on that. The treatment was the road the breathers down the throat of the carb. It worked for that motorbike and now I'm hoping it works for my new 08 FXD.
The 3 scenarios I understand in which this happens are;
1. Overfilling your engine oil - BTDT
2. Normal oil levels but operation sustained high speeds - 80-90 MPH
3. Blowby - bad rings allowing oil to get preceding the slugs (elder engines)
I"m departing to select up this classy "fix" this week but hunted to make surefire that the breather tubes in this kit peak the jumble into the throat of the beast and not quickly into the air cleaner factor.
Anyone know for surefire?
My '07 Ultra blew oil from day one save I ran it 1/2 qt down and then it would still clout some oil if I ran it at 70+ mph for very long. I finally got tired of it and took it to a dealer (still under warranty). They found that an assembler mis-installed one of the rocker gaskets at the factory and was allowing oil knock-by. New gasket....All was well and was able to run ample of oil with no crack-by.
